Inspired by a vision to introduce a uniquely vibrant, restaurant-centric offering to the Shepherd/Durham urban spine of the popular Heights neighborhood - "Durham Row" delivers w/ a broad mix of cuisines - plus a sprinkling of other convenient uses - all in one destination. With a contemporary design that includes (2) complimentary buildings & an Instagram-worthy geometric mural-like entry between them, the building placements are key to the project's innovation. Located directly against Durham Drive - this design doubles down on the urban planning trend of keeping parking out of sight - and the public realm front-and-center. With both Shepherd Drive & Durham Drive undergoing major beautification upgrades, Durham Row's expansive canopies w/ bold light fixtures - paired with linear "scratched" raw concrete facades - helps create a stand-out dining destination. Rounding out the material palette are soft wood undertones, softening green screens, and tectonic-like shapes, custom painted, scored into the geometrically-oriented walls. The ultimate goal: providing a captivating "going out" experience unique to the culinarily-inclined Heights & the greater Houston area.
